One of the most exciting things about summer is using stocked up vacation time to plan fun getaways to new places! Thanks to modern day technology traveling is now easier than ever. We are always connected with our smart devices, making it easy to just pack and go! Technology makes sure that we’re more organized, efficient, and prepared for our travels.
There are so many places in the world that are worth a visit, but here at Kdan Mobile, we wanted to give you an insider’s perspective on one of our favorite cities: Boston, Massachusetts. Boston is full of history, culture, music, beautiful sights, dedicated sports fans, delicious food, and more. This city has something to offer everyone. No matter the season, Boston is worth a visit. Being from Boston (well New Hampshire, but close enough!), I have to say I’m a bit biased and think summer time is when everyone should visit.
A Little Bit About Beantown
The Boston Tea Party, the Boston Massacre, and Paul Revere all happened here! Boston was founded in 1630 when the Puritans settled in the city and played a large role in beginning the American Revolution. The city later opened its doors to many immigrants from Ireland and Italy which led to some of the amazing culture it now has today.
Planning a Trip
When planning a trip, I’m sure you think about how much time is enough time in a city? My advice would be to take at least four or five days to see and do Boston. Where to Stay
The city has many hotels, inns, and Airbnb’s to offer. It truly depends on your budget and what appeals to you. My recommendation is to use sites such as Trip Advisoror Hotels.com to help you narrow down a hotel depending on what neighborhood you would like to make your home base.

Take advantage of the modern age of technology, save space while you’re packing and store all of your travel documents in the most convenient place – your phone! These are a Few of my Favorite Things
The first thing I typically recommend anyone to do when they visit Boston is to go and catch a Red Sox game at historic Fenway Park! Before you go to a game, grab a bite at Sweet Cheeks Q, Game On, or the Cask’n Flagon.
To make it easier to find a good restaurant or set up reservations, use Yelp or Open Table. Using applications such as these websites can help make your life a bit easier and less stressful. One pro tip I have for you that doesn’t have to do with travel or technology, is the fact that you should try to eat before you enter the park. Don’t even get me started on the price of beer or food at Fenway! One thing I do suggest splurging on is taking advantage of a Fenway Park Tour. The tour does a really nice behind-the-scenes must see for any baseball fan. It really lets you see and learn so much about the park!
If you’re someone who likes to see a city on foot, I recommend taking a day of your trip walking through the city to do the two-and-a-half-mile Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail leads you past 16 historically significant sights and can be done at your own pace. Some of the sights, you’ll see are the historic North End, Boston Common, the Massachusetts State House, Paul Revere’s house, the USS Constitution, the Bunker Hill Monument, and more! It’s a great way to get your own perspective of the city.
Because there are so many things you can see and do along the Freedom Trail, I recommend scanning one of the maps from travel guidebooks, add it to your phone, and mark your route with Pocket Scanner. You truly do not need to pay for a walking tour, and can do the city at your own pace. If you mark the route you want to take, you can always stop and try anything else along the way that peaks your interest.
That’s one of the beauties about travel, the spontaneity. This is your trip, make the most out of it and do everything that you want to see! These travel tips are meant to help you travel more efficiently and hopefully keep your stress to a minimum!
For those who are of age, I recommend checking out some of the breweries and distillers that Boston has. Harpoon Brewery, Aeronaut, and Sam Adamsare all local. Most of the breweries offer inexpensive tours and tastings!
