Summer Internship at Kdan Mobile

An internship with Kdan means doing much more than just getting coffee or making copies—you’ll immerse yourself in a professional environment under the tutelage of our highly experienced and friendly staff members.

Kdan Team

Last summer, the Kdan team was joined by four interns from National Cheng Kung University: Angel Lai, a sophomore; Wan Zhen Chen, a junior; Li Wen Xu, a junior; and Mia Gin Xu, a junior. The interns worked alongside our full-time employees and learned about Kdan’s culture.

During this summer-long experiential learning process, the interns worked and learned in a professional environment. To help them acclimate to the “real world,” mentors were assigned to each student to familiarize them with how things work at Kdan while showing them best practices in their respective disciplines.

“Regardless of the busy schedule, my mentors gave me a warm welcome and spent time going over tasks with me,” said Angel, who interned with our marketing department.

Li WenLi Wen interned with our UI design team. “I was very lucky to have a patient and generous mentor,” she added. “My mentor taught me a lot of image-creation techniques that I try to practice a lot when I have free time.”

One popular activity among the interns was participating in real-world problem-solving.

Wan Zhen Chen“We had a standup meeting every morning,” explained Wan Zhen, who worked with our Cloud Team. “The meetings got everyone on the same page and allowed the team to discuss their challenges in the projects. We had very good communication, so we were usually able to solve the problem quickly as a team.”

Even the more difficult projects led to helpful realizations for our interns.

Min Gia Xu“My mentors, managers, and colleagues taught me many new things. I learned so much about user experience design from this internship!” explained Min Gia, who also interned with our UI design team. “But I also learned that I have a long way to go. I plan to further my education now after seeing how much more there is to learn during this internship.”

We try to emphasize the importance of having a passion for what you do and create a friendly environment of open communication, empowerment, and Kaizen. We’re proud that our interns could experience these elements of our company culture during their short time with us.

“I read a lot of news reports about Kdan Mobile before I came here,” explained Min Gia. “I expected the team was very professional in the field of UI and UX design—and I was not disappointed!”

“The projects here are far more complex compared to the school assignments,” explained Wan Zhen. “Working at Kdan was challenging, but the team helped me to grow. I strongly encourage the future interns to interact with your mentors—chances are you could learn more than working on your own.”
