Kdan is Powering Taiwan’s Top Convenience Chain to Help Workers Go Mobile

Did you know that Strategy Analytics predicts that by year 2023, nearly half (43.3%) of workers will be classified as “mobile”? That will be in the neighborhood of 1.88 billion mobile employees!

So what can an app developer like Kdan Mobile do to prepare for this coming wave of mobile workers? Simply put, we are taking steps to help this growing mobile workforce be as productive as possible.

Just this month, we announced a new collaboration with 7-ELEVEN’s ibon convenience living station. 7-ELEVEN is an integral part of life in Taiwan, offering more than just a quick snack. Visitors can receive or send packages, access ATM’s, and pick up read-to-eat meals. To put this in perspective, 7-ELEVENs in Taipei (Taiwan’s capital) are more common than Starbucks in Seattle (more fun facts here).

7-ELEVEN’s ibon machine is available in each location, and lets users do anything from call taxis to print photos or documents.

Thanks to our agreement with 7-ELEVEN, users can print documents from our PDF Reader mobile apps.

Users in Taiwan (citizens and visitors alike!) can print documents directly from our app in any of the 7-ELEVEN ibon machines with the tap of a button.

“The world is going mobile,” explained Kenny Su, our CEO and Founder. “Our collaboration with ibon is our next step towards building a complete mobile workflow for our users.”

Traditionally, our partnerships have focused on trying to reach more users. This new opportunity is our next major step towards creating a more efficient mobile working ecosystem.

To help as many workers go mobile as possible, we’re also introducing our PDF SDK to 7-ELEVEN’s ibon app in the next stage of this collaboration (release TBD). Our SDK (software developer’s kit) enables pdf files to be previewed on the ibon app that saves users’ time checking their files when using the actual machine.
