It’s that time of year again…November is Global Entrepreneurship Month! And this year, our U.S. Team is celebrating by co-hosting a series of events alongside other local organizations that support startups and small businesses. To follow along with the events, be sure to follow us on Twitter, where we’ll be live-Tweeting some of the advice offered during the events!
Kdan’s U.S. Team will be joining the Juniata Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (JCEL), which supports entrepreneurial college students and houses other local businesses, and Startup Alleghenies, a free program in central Pennsylvania that helps aspiring entrepreneurs locate the information, tools, and connections that will move their idea from vision to market.
We’ll be working together to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in students and share information about various resources that startups and small businesses can take advantage of to grow their visions.

Starting & Growing a Small Business in Huntingdon County – 11/5/2019
The first event, titled, Starting & Growing a Small Business in Huntingdon County, will talk about some of the resources and methods to help you get started.
Understand the Market
If you’re thinking about starting your own business, it’s imperative that you research the opportunity fully before diving in. Joey DiGangi, who’s a member of Kdan’s team and is also in the process of building his own business to help people with food allergies, will talk about some of the ways that he researched the problems he was trying to solve before launching his startup.
Checking available studies, interviewing potential users/customers, and conducting surveys on a large scale across social media are just a few of the things you can do to get started.
Research Local Resources
Despite what the name might suggest, the event resources are available beyond the borders of Huntingdon County.
Did you know that depending on where you are, there could be dozens, if not more, opportunities for apex trader funding, mentorship, and more? Finder.com outlines some that are available across the U.S. (included as an example), but depending on your country and city, there could be more.
Debra Clark, a business coach at Startup Alleghenies, will be sharing some of the ways that her team helps entrepreneurs in the area connect with available resources to start and grow their companies.
Find Effective Tools that Optimize the Way You Work & Create Content
Wei-Chung Wang, our VP of Global Marketing and Strategy, will identify some of the most important tools to use if you’re an entrepreneur.
“Content is King,” as the marketing adage goes, and finding solutions that let you generate consistent, quality content – regardless of whether you have a formal design background or not – is one way to help your startup build a brand for itself.
Besides creating content, you’ll also want to find ways to work more efficiently. One way you can do this is by cutting down the time wasted on processes that take you away from your main objectives. Printing, signing, scanning, and sending contracts are examples of time-consuming tasks that can hinder your momentum.
Wei-Chung will discuss DottedSign and the different tools that makeup Kdan Mobile’s Creativity 365 Suite of apps as some examples of easy-to-implement solutions for startups.
Understanding the Value of the Entrepreneurial Mindset & Why Companies Should Hire More “Intrapreneurs” – 11/19/2019
The second event of the month will emphasize the importance of the entrepreneurial spirit, both in startups and in larger enterprises.
Members from our team and our two co-hosts will talk about the value of an entrepreneurial experience–be it as an entrepreneur or someone who’s involved with a new or early-stage company–because it gives you a fuller understanding of how different parts of a business connect.
We’ll also talk about how employers can benefit from hiring individuals with entrepreneurial backgrounds, as they’ll put their experiences, creativity, and ability to self-manage to work on your behalf. “Intrapreneurs,” as they’re sometimes referred to, can have a positive effect as you build out your team.
